The Ostend Film Festival hosts European premiere of 'The Couple Next Door'

The series was written by David Allison and is directed by Dries Vos. The Flemish director has established an international furore and is known for 'De Dag', 'Billie vs Benjamin' and the British adaptation of 'Professor T', among others. Vos produced the series with his newly established Flemish production company Happy Duck Films and filmed the series with an entirely Flemish crew in Belgium. 

Renowned for his outstanding acting and charismatic presence, Sam Heughan has established himself as a beloved and versatile actor. With an impressive track record, including his iconic role as Jamie Fraser in the award-winning series 'Outlander,' Heughan has captured an international audience and won numerous awards. In 'The Couple Next Door,' Sam Heughan is joined by Eleanor Tomlinson, Jessica De Gouw, and Alfred Enoch, who will also be present for the premiere. Eleanor Tomlinson gained fame for her role as Demelza Poldark in the historical drama series 'Poldark.' Additionally, she starred in the fantasy-adventure film 'Jack the Giant Slayer' and the historical drama series 'The White Queen.' Jessica De Gouw made a name for herself with her role as Agatha Fyfle in the psychological thriller series 'The Secrets She Keeps.' Alfred Enoch is known for his role in the 'Harry Potter' franchise and received praise for his role as Wes Gibbins in the legal crime series 'How to Get Away with Murder.'

To honor their visit to Ostend, Dries Vos and the cast will be honored with a star on our prestigious Walk of Fame. This special recognition on the promenade marks their exceptional contribution to the world of film and television.

'The Couple Next Door' tells the story of Evie, who moves to an upscale English suburb with her partner Pete. Soon, they find themselves in a world of noisy neighbors and class anxiety. They become friends with Danny and Becka, the neighbors ‘next door’. The tension between the two couples quickly becomes palpable, making the quiet suburb much less boring.
